Respite Care Options

It is very common for caregivers to be hesitant to take vacations due to feelings of anxiety or guilt. Who will take care of your loved one? What if the temperature gets too hot or too cold? What if something happens? It can be difficult to entrust the care of your loved one to an assisted living facility as well, even if it is for a short period. Many times caregivers don’t believe that another person will provide the same level of care that they do.

At Pine Hill, we understand all of your concerns as a caregiver. At our assisted living facility, we aim to treat your loved ones the same way we would treat our own loved ones. We go above and beyond to provide a safe, comfortable environment for your loved one. We place emphasis on family-oriented and social atmosphere, which allows your loved one to maintain a sense of independence while still being within professional, caring hands.

We offer respite care stays for as little as one day, or longer. We know that you need your own time to take care of your immediate family, or you’d like to arrange for vacation time. We’re here to help assist you in the continual care of your loved one at our assisted living facility.

How Respite Stays Work

Woman Serving and Helping Two SeniorsShort term respite care stays are excellent options for caregivers who would like some time off, a vacation, or need time to focus on something else. We welcome our seniors into fully furnished apartments where we provide all services including medication management, housekeeping, laundry, and personal care/personal grooming. We provide freshly prepared meals three times a day. Our staff is available 24 hours a day, including highly trained nursing professionals. Everything that is available to our full-time assisted living and retirement home residents is available to our respite care short term visitors as well.

Our assisted living facility provides a hotel-like stay for short term or respite care visitors. Many of our short term residents even enjoy the change of scenery, meet new friends, and participate in new activities.

While You’re Away

Many caregivers like to check in on their loved ones while they are away with a phone call or an email. We also collect an emergency number from you before you leave, as well as contact information from someone local to the assisted living facility in the case of an urgent need.

While you’re away, short term respite care will allow your loved on to socialize and participate in new activities, which can help pass time quickly until their known caregivers return. Even if your senior is shy, we have a variety of activities and social situations that allows for your loved one to make friends naturally. We organize activities and entertainment to help your loved ones feel comfortable in their new settings and never get bored. We are determined to to our very best to assure you that your loved one will be well taken care of while you are away.

A bonus to booking a short-term stay is that you can build a relationship with an assisted living facility and retirement home that may be perfect for future extended stays!
